    When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin to . Keep the strongest plants. Remove the weaker ones cleanly around 10th March - 24th April.

    Support Plants

    7 Apr to 5 Jun Dates as each sowing reaches this stage

    From 7th April, put light stakes or mesh in before the plants start to lean. Add support early rather than waiting for stems to bend.

    Water and Feed

    10 Mar to 11 Nov Dates as each sowing reaches this stage

    From 10th March to 11th November, water during dry spells. If the soil is poor, give one light balanced feed as flowering begins. Avoid overfeeding.

    Cut stems from 2nd June as soon as the flower heads open. Keep picking through 11th November. Cut early in the day and put them straight into water.
